Push to talk (PTT) is a type of instant communication in which a button is used to move a device from voice transmission mode to voice reception mode. PTT converts a radio from full duplex mode, in which both parties can hear each other at the same time, to half duplex mode, in which only one side can talk at a time. Multiple participants in the discourse may also be present.
