The Tron 40AIS ia an EPIRB that incorporates infrared light emitting diode (IR LED). This IR LED enables the use of night vision, which aids SAR (Search and Rescue) operations that take place at night or in the dark. Read more.
The Tron 40AIS is one of the most cutting-edge EPIRBs (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons) available today. Infrared light emitting diode (IR LED) is used in it. The ability to employ night vision thanks to this IR LED facilitates SAR (Search and Rescue) operations that take place at night or in low light.
EPIRBs are devices that, when a ship is in a dangerous position, broadcast distress signals to ground stations in each country.
The Tron 40AIS complies with the necessary International Maritime Organization (IMO) (as of July 2022) and Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations. Approved by MED, MER (UK), FCC and IC.
This EPIRB is compatible with Europe's global navigation satellite system, Galileo Return Link System (which has been operational since January 2020).
The Tron 40AIS has been tested in line with the international standard, IEC 61097-2 Ed.4 (April 2021), for operational and performance criteria.
