Product description

AIRMAR SS175L Low CHIRP 1 kW Stainless Steel Thru-Hull Transducer

The AIRMAR SS175L delivers substantial deep-water reach in a stainless steel thru-hull design suited to fiberglass, wood and metal boats. Its 1 kW power rating and 40–60 kHz Low CHIRP band support bottom tracking to a rated maximum depth of 762 m (2,500 ft). The broad 32°–21° beam suits offshore fishermen searching deeper grounds and following bottom contours across a wide area beneath the boat.

The low-profile housing sits almost flush with the hull. A fixed 0°, 12° or 20° tilted element compensates for the mounting location’s deadrise, directing the beam downward without an external fairing. The SS175L measures depth and fast-response water temperature. Installation in a metal hull requires electrical isolation between the stainless steel housing and the hull, following AIRMAR’s instructions.

Select the variant with the element angle suited to your hull’s deadrise and the connection required by your sonar equipment, following the guidance below. NC variants include an integrated 12 m bare-wire cable for wiring to compatible equipment. Mix and Match™ variants include an integrated cable with an AIRMAR 12-pin connector and require a CHIRP adapter cable matched to your fishfinder or blackbox sonar module.

FEATURES

  • Low CHIRP (40–60 kHz): Deep-water bottom tracking across a 20 kHz bandwidth.
  • 1 kW power rating: Rated maximum depth of 762 m (2,500 ft).
  • 32°–21° beamwidth: Broad search coverage, narrowing as frequency increases.
  • Stainless steel housing: Suitable for fiberglass, wood and metal hulls with the correct installation.
  • Tilted Element™ design: Fixed element angles compensate for hull deadrise.
  • Low-profile mounting: Almost flush installation without an external fairing.
  • Depth and temperature: Includes fast-response water-temperature sensing.
  • Two connection formats: Bare-wire or AIRMAR 12-pin Mix and Match™.
  • Xducer ID® technology: Identifies the transducer to equipment supporting this feature.

INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS

Measure deadrise at the mounting location before selecting the element angle. Use a 95 mm hull hole for fiberglass or wood, or 105 mm for metal. On metal hulls, use AIRMAR’s specified isolation components to electrically isolate the stainless steel housing from the hull. Choose a position where the transducer remains submerged in water free of turbulence, orient the tilted element as instructed and route the cable clear of electrical interference. Complete the connection specified for the selected variant and sonar equipment.

At Sail360, we help you choose marine equipment built to perform and made to last.
