Foulfree by AIRMAR 15ml Kit, Any marine growth or fouling on the face of a transducer can reduce sensitivity, decreasing bottom-echo returns and fish-target intensity. It can also increase turbulence under the transducer’s face, causing aeration and loss of bottom contact. To address these challenges, Airmar partnered with Propspeed® International to develop Foulfree™ fouling release coating for transducers. This proprietary clear coat forms a slick surface that prevents marine growth from adhering, keeping the transducer’s active face clean and clear. Airmar certifies that applying Foulfree™ coating to its transducers does not reduce transducer performance.
