The AIRMAR DT800 Tilt Thru-Hull Transducer is a basic depth and water temperature transducer designed for reliable navigation and onboard monitoring. It is intended for vessels that require accurate depth awareness and temperature data without the need for CHIRP technology or advanced fishfinder features. As part of AIRMAR’s Smart Sensor range, the DT800 combines a compact thru-hull design with internal signal processing to deliver clean and consistent data to compatible marine instruments.
The DT800 uses a tilted ceramic element to compensate for the hull’s deadrise angle, ensuring that the acoustic beam is directed vertically into the water for accurate depth readings. It is available in 0°, 12°, and 20° tilt versions, allowing the transducer to be matched to different hull angles without the use of external fairing blocks. This simplifies installation while maintaining correct sonar alignment.
Operating at a single 235 kHz frequency, the DT800 provides dependable depth measurements and avoids interference with other onboard echosounders. In addition to depth, it includes an integrated water temperature sensor, making it a practical solution for motorboats, sailing yachts, and fishing vessels used in coastal and inland waters.
Single-frequency depth measurement: Provides accurate and stable depth data for navigation.
Integrated water temperature sensor: Measures water temperature directly at the hull.
Tilted-element design: Available in 0°, 12°, and 20° versions to match hull deadrise.
235 kHz operating frequency: Minimizes interference with other echosounders onboard.
Smart Sensor electronics: Internal signal processing ensures clean data output.
Low-profile thru-hull housing: Minimizes drag and maintains hull efficiency.
Retractable housing with self-closing valve: Allows servicing and cleaning with minimal water ingress.

Installation documentation
The DT800 should be installed in a location with clean, undisturbed water flow, away from strakes, steps, and turbulence sources. The appropriate tilt angle (0°, 12°, or 20°) must be selected based on the hull’s deadrise to ensure the transducer beam is oriented vertically in the water. The retractable housing allows the sensor to be removed for maintenance or cleaning while minimizing water ingress, making servicing straightforward and safe.
